ABOUT AMY PETERS & BEAUTY MARKED

My love for fitness started at an early age, thanks to my parents. They instilled the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and fitness. I went to the gym after school, as most kids go to daycare. Lifting weights was my primary interest for most of my life. Shortly after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, I started competing in Figure. Initially, my plan was to compete in 1 contest, just for the experience as my primary objective was to build my Nutrition Business, AP PHYSIQUES. I strongly felt it was my calling to work with competitors. My purpose in working with females in making contest prep healthy, realistic and most importantly without the typical rebound effects. I believe most females have a warped view about what is healthy, how we think we should look and what we actually see in the mirror. My first contest in 2002 turned into a 6 year journey in my world of Figure. I became an IFBB Figure Pro in 2005, when i won my class at Jr Nationals. After competing in 10 NPC contests and 13 IFBB Pro contests, I retired from the Figure stage in 2008. Competing taught me far more than just about dedication, discipline and what it takes to get onstage. Most importantly, it taught me I could face my biggest fear stage fright! After 23 contests, it never became effortless or easy for me. Eventually, I learned how to be comfortable doing something really uncomfortable. I often miss many aspects of competing, working towards a goal, preparing for the contest and the motivation it gave me but, I do not miss any part of being onstage! Competing as a Pro Figure Competitor and AP PHYSIQUES led to the creation of BEAUTY MARKED. When I started competing, I rarely wore makeup as I lived in the gym. That quickly changed after hiring a Professional Makeup Artist for my first Figure contest. I instantly fell in love with makeup, super dramatic makeup. I learned by individual instruction working with Professional Makeup Artists, before social media as we know it today. With over 12 years experience as a self-taught Freelance Makeup Artist as of June 2019, I am now a Professional Certified Makeup Artist! I completed the MUA Pro Makeup Artistry Program in Beauty, Glamour, Fashion and Bridal HD Makeup. My Makeup Style is Bold, Dramatic and Super Glam! I specialize in Stage, Photoshoot, Bridal and Special Event Makeup and I teach Makeup instruction in my Makeup Studio in Plano, Texas. I am also a volunteer Makeup Artist for the North Texas Angels Pageant, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that celebrates children and young adults with special needs. Every year they host a non-competitive pageant to give each angel a special, magical day. The mission of the North Texas Angels is to celebrate individuals with special needs and provide them with resources that can improve their quality of life and increase public awareness for individuals with specials needs and their families. I am incredibly humbled and honored to have the privilege and opportunity to give back to an amazing organization!
